New gum disease shot shows promise in early trial

Summary
This study tests an experimental injection called LP-005 for people with moderate-to-severe gum disease (periodontitis). About 100 adults will receive either the drug or a placebo to see if it reduces gum inflammation, bleeding, and bone loss. The goal is to control the disease and improve oral health over about 6 months.
