Diet before chemo may cut side effects and boost results

NCT ID NCT01802346

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether eating a controlled low-calorie diet before chemotherapy can reduce side effects like fatigue, nausea, and mouth sores, and also improve how well the treatment works. About 130 adults with breast or prostate cancer will be randomly assigned to either follow the special diet or eat normally before their chemo sessions. The goal is to see if this simple dietary change can make chemotherapy easier to tolerate and more effective.
