Summary
This study looks at whether the weight-loss drug phentermine, which is currently only approved for short-term use (up to 12 weeks), is safe and effective when taken for up to 2 years. About 870 adults with obesity or overweight plus related health issues will take the drug and be monitored for weight loss, blood pressure changes, and side effects. The goal is to see if long-term use can help manage obesity as a chronic disease.
