Pregnancy blood clot risk: are standard drug doses off?
NCT ID NCT01394107
First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at how a standard dose of a blood thinner (LMWH) affects blood clotting in 40 pregnant women just before a planned C-section. The goal was to see if the usual dose is right for preventing dangerous clots during pregnancy's highest risk period. Researchers also checked if the drug increases the risk of spinal bleeding during anesthesia. The findings could lead to safer, more tailored dosing for pregnant women.
