Pregnancy blood clot prevention under scrutiny: are doses right?

NCT ID NCT01394107

First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looked at how a standard dose of a blood thinner (LMWH) affects blood clotting in 40 pregnant women just before a planned C-section. The goal was to see if the current dose is safe and effective for preventing dangerous blood clots, which are a leading cause of death in new mothers. Researchers also checked whether the blood thinner increases the risk of spinal bleeding during anesthesia.
