New MRI scan for liver disease put to the test

NCT ID NCT03743272

First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study checked if a special MRI scan called LiverMultiScan gives the same results when repeated on the same machine or on different machines. 61 adults with various liver diseases were scanned multiple times. The goal was to see if the scan reliably measures liver fat, iron, and scarring, which could help doctors monitor liver disease without needing a biopsy.
