First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests two drugs, terlipressin and somatostatin, to see which one better lowers high blood pressure in the liver's main vein during a living-donor liver transplant. High pressure can cause dangerous bleeding, so finding the best drug may improve safety. About 50 adults with severe liver disease and high portal pressure will receive one of the drugs during surgery and be monitored for 7 days after.
