What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help researchers develop better lab models to test new treatments for liver diseases and liver cancer.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study that does not test any treatment directly. The models may not perfectly mimic human disease, and results may take years to impact patient care.
