First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study looks at how genetic factors influence the risk of liver damage and heart problems in people with fatty liver disease. Researchers will enroll 2,500 blood donors aged 40-65 who are overweight or have related conditions like high blood sugar or high cholesterol. The goal is to use genetic risk scores to better predict who might develop serious complications and to guide future treatments.
