NCT ID NCT03875638
First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested whether levetiracetam, a medication used for epilepsy, can reduce abnormal brain overactivity and improve memory and thinking in people with early Alzheimer's disease. Fifty-eight participants received the drug or a placebo to see if it calms brain signals and boosts cognitive test scores. The goal was to find a new way to ease symptoms, not to cure the disease.
