Summary

This phase 2 study tests the chemotherapy drug lenalidomide (Revlimid) in 12 adults with one of three rare histiocyte disorders: Langerhans cell histiocytosis, Erdheim-Chester disease, or histiocytic sarcoma. The goal is to see how many patients achieve disease control or remission. The trial is no longer recruiting but is still analyzing results.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

lenalidomide (Revlimid)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for rare histiocyte disorders that are hard to treat.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early-phase trial with only 12 participants, so results may not apply broadly. Lenalidomide is a chemotherapy drug and can cause side effects like low blood counts and fatigue.
