Laser showdown: which beam best banishes gum discoloration?
NCT ID NCT07520266
First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tested two different lasers—diode and Er,Cr:YSGG—to remove dark pigmentation from gums in 38 adults. The goal was to see which laser worked better, caused less pain, and led to faster healing. Participants had one side of their mouth treated with one laser and the other side with the other laser, so each person served as their own comparison.
