Healthy men test amino acid's effect on key hormones
NCT ID NCT01220388
First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looked at how L-lysine, a common amino acid, affects two important hormones: aldosterone and cortisol. Twenty healthy men took L-lysine or a placebo for 13 days, then switched. The goal was to learn how the body controls these hormones, not to treat any disease. No direct health benefit was expected for participants.
