First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This early-stage study tests whether a supplement called L-Citrulline is safe for preterm infants who have lung disease (BPD) or a serious gut condition (NEC). The goal is to see if raising low levels of this natural substance can reduce harmful inflammation. About 36 infants will take part, and researchers will monitor for side effects and measure how the body processes the supplement.
