New procedure aims to ease knee arthritis pain without surgery

NCT ID NCT06940479

Summary

This study is testing a minimally invasive procedure called genicular artery embolization (GAE) to see if it can reduce knee pain and inflammation in adults with osteoarthritis. Researchers will measure changes in pain scores, knee fluid, and MRI scans before and after the procedure to understand how it works. The goal is to see if reducing blood flow to inflamed knee tissue provides lasting pain relief for people who haven't benefited from standard treatments.
