New program aims to stop elder abuse in dementia caregiving

Summary

This study tests a program called KINDER, designed to help family caregivers of people with dementia reduce psychological elder abuse (like yelling or threatening) and improve the quality of care. About 260 caregivers will be randomly assigned to receive the KINDER training or usual support. The goal is to see if KINDER lowers abusive behaviors and boosts positive caregiving skills.
