NCT ID NCT07097506

First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether a daily ketone ester drink can reduce liver fat and improve blood sugar control in 40 adolescents and young adults (ages 18–25) with obesity and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Participants are randomly assigned to drink either a ketone ester or a placebo for 6 weeks. The main goals are to measure changes in liver fat using MRI and changes in insulin sensitivity using a glucose clamp procedure.
