Can a High-Fat diet help heal the injured brain?
NCT ID NCT04530032
Summary
This study tested whether a special high-fat, low-carb diet (ketogenic or modified Atkins diet) could help people recover brain function after a moderate to severe traumatic brain injury. Researchers enrolled 21 patients to see if the diet improved their thinking skills, memory, and overall disability over 12 months. They used brain scans and cognitive tests to measure changes in brain metabolism and function.
