First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) to standard steroid treatment early in myositis leads to faster improvement than steroids alone. Myositis is a group of rare diseases that cause muscle inflammation and weakness. The trial includes 44 adults diagnosed within the past year. Researchers measure improvement using a standard score that combines muscle strength, function, and lab tests.
