First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests whether itopride, a drug that helps move food through the stomach, can reduce the risk of food or liquid remaining in the stomach after fasting in people taking semaglutide (a diabetes medication). 60 diabetic patients scheduled for hysterectomy will receive either itopride or a placebo before anesthesia. The goal is to see if itopride lowers the chance of stomach contents causing complications during surgery.
