Summary
This study looks at whether giving iron supplements to anemic patients before major heart surgery can improve their long-term quality of life, sleep, and fatigue. About 400 adults with iron-deficiency anemia scheduled for heart surgery will be randomly assigned to receive iron or standard care. The goal is to see if this simple treatment helps them feel better months after their operation.
