New iron pill could speed up recovery in kids with celiac disease

NCT ID NCT07563582

First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special type of iron supplement (Sucrosomial iron) helps children with newly diagnosed celiac disease and low iron or anemia recover faster than just following a gluten-free diet alone. About 60 children aged 8-18 will receive either the iron supplement or a placebo for 6 months. The goal is to see if the supplement safely speeds up the return of normal iron and hemoglobin levels.
