New iron pill could speed recovery in kids with celiac disease
NCT ID NCT07563582
First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special type of iron supplement (Sucrosomial iron) helps children with newly diagnosed celiac disease and iron deficiency or anemia recover their iron levels faster than a gluten-free diet alone. About 60 children aged 8 to 18 will receive either the iron supplement or a placebo for 6 months. The goal is to see if the supplement safely speeds up the return to normal iron and hemoglobin levels.
