Summary
This study is testing if giving an intravenous (IV) iron supplement before weight-loss surgery can prevent patients from developing anemia afterward. It will involve 200 obese patients with low iron levels who are scheduled for surgery. Researchers will compare the IV iron to a placebo to see if it improves blood counts and quality of life after the operation.
