Summary

This study is testing whether giving an intravenous (IV) iron supplement before weight-loss surgery can prevent anemia and improve recovery afterward. Researchers will compare the IV iron treatment to a placebo in 200 obese patients who have low iron levels. The goal is to see if the iron infusion helps maintain healthy blood counts and improves patients' quality of life following surgery.
