New hope for pancreatic cancer: electric pulses plus chemo
NCT ID NCT03484299
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This early-phase study tests whether adding a procedure called irreversible electroporation (IRE) — which uses electric pulses to destroy cancer cells — to standard chemotherapy can help people with locally advanced pancreatic cancer. About 20 adults with stage III pancreatic cancer will receive either FOLFIRINOX or gemcitabine along with IRE. The main goal is to see if the combination is safe and tolerable, and to measure how long the cancer stays under control.
