Electric pulses zap thyroid cancer in neck lymph nodes in new trial

NCT ID NCT07328243

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests a procedure called irreversible electroporation (IRE) for thyroid cancer that has come back in neck lymph nodes after surgery. IRE uses short, strong electric pulses to destroy cancer cells without cutting. About 85 adults will receive one or two IRE treatments and be followed for 2 years to see if the treated lymph nodes shrink and if quality of life improves.
