Blood protein may reveal hidden insulin problems
NCT ID NCT01648478
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a protein called IRAP, found in the blood, can be used as a marker for insulin sensitivity (how well the body uses insulin). Researchers tested 21 healthy adults using a precise method called a hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamp. The goal was to see if IRAP levels match the gold-standard measure of insulin sensitivity, which could lead to a simpler blood test in the future.
