First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested a new automated system that delivers both insulin and pramlintide to manage blood sugar in people with type 1 diabetes. Pramlintide slows digestion to prevent high blood sugar after meals. The system used a continuous glucose monitor to automatically control two pumps. 33 adults with type 1 diabetes took part to see if adding pramlintide improved blood sugar control compared to insulin alone.
