First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tested a radioactive tracer called 11C-PABA to see if it can help doctors find infections deep inside the body using PET scans. 13 healthy people and patients with infections, inflammation, or cancer took part. The goal was to see if this imaging method can tell infections apart from other conditions and even identify the type of bacteria causing the infection.
