New study aims to sharpen thyroid testing for patients on levothyroxine
NCT ID NCT06083636
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looks at 500 people with hypothyroidism who take levothyroxine, a common thyroid medication. The goal is to see if measuring a different thyroid hormone (fT3) or the ratio of fT3 to fT4 can give a more accurate picture of thyroid health than current tests. Researchers hope to improve lab diagnostics for patients where standard tests may not work well.
