New study aims to sharpen thyroid testing for patients on levothyroxine
NCT ID NCT06083636
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looks at 500 people with hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) who take levothyroxine. Researchers want to see if measuring a different thyroid hormone, called fT3, or the ratio of fT3 to fT4, can give a clearer picture of thyroid health than current tests. The goal is to improve lab diagnostics, especially for patients where standard tests like TSH are not reliable.
