Brain tumor scan could change treatment plans in 4 out of 10 cases

NCT ID NCT02631655

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether an expensive PET scan called 18F-FDOPA helps doctors choose better treatments for people with high-grade gliomas (a type of aggressive brain tumor). About 110 patients whose cases were discussed by a team of specialists were included. The main goal was to see how often the scan changed the treatment plan and whether it made doctors more confident in their decisions.
