New scan could better reveal rectal Cancer's response to treatment

NCT ID NCT05245786

First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This early-phase study tests a special PET scan using a substance called 64Cu-M5A to see how well it shows tumor activity in people with advanced rectal cancer. About 15 participants will get the scan before and after standard chemotherapy and radiation, and the results will be compared to usual imaging and tissue samples. The goal is to see if this scan can give doctors clearer information to guide treatment.
