Blood markers may predict ICU death risk after surgery

NCT ID NCT07460141

First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study is observing 42 adults who are admitted to the intensive care unit after surgery. Researchers want to see if levels of a substance called IL-6 and other inflammation scores in the blood can help predict which patients are at higher risk of dying or having serious complications. The goal is to better understand these markers, not to test a new treatment.
