Heart failure study questions need for defibrillators in Low-Risk patients

NCT ID NCT06543446

Summary

This study aims to find out if heart failure patients at low risk for dangerous heart rhythms need an implantable defibrillator (ICD) or if they can do just as well with medication alone. It will enroll 3,290 adults with heart failure who are already on stable, optimal medication. Participants will be randomly assigned to either receive an ICD or continue with medication-only management, and researchers will track survival, hospital visits, and quality of life over time.
