This study tested whether giving ibuprofen before hernia surgery helps older adults avoid short-term confusion and memory problems. 76 men aged 65-84 received either ibuprofen or a placebo before surgery. Researchers measured thinking skills, pain levels, and recovery quality. The goal was to see if ibuprofen could reduce brain inflammation and improve recovery.
