Scientists probe Gut's Gas-Makers in search for IBS relief

NCT ID NCT06801184

Summary

This study aims to understand the connection between gut bacteria, methane gas production, and constipation in people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Researchers will analyze stool and blood samples from 40 adults with IBS-constipation who produce high levels of methane. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to better future treatments, but this study itself does not test any new therapies.
