New scan spots hidden oxygen shortage in pancreatic tumors
NCT ID NCT01542177
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether a PET scan using a tracer called 18F-FAZA can measure low oxygen levels (hypoxia) in pancreatic cancer. Hypoxia can affect how the cancer grows and responds to treatment. 48 adults with pancreatic cancer received the scan, and researchers also collected blood samples to look for related biomarkers. The goal was to see if this imaging method provides useful information about the tumor's oxygen status.
