Summary
This study tested a new vaccine called HSV529 to see if it is safe for people. The vaccine is designed to prevent genital herpes caused by the herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2). A total of 69 healthy adults aged 18 to 40, some with and some without HSV infection, received either the vaccine or a placebo. Researchers monitored participants for side effects and immune responses over one year.
