First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a high-protein diet, core muscle exercises, and mild electrical stimulation could help patients who have been on a breathing machine for over 21 days. 100 adults took part. The goal was to see if these treatments helped them successfully breathe on their own for at least 5 days in a row.
