NCT ID NCT02675647
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looked at 60 obese adults having heart surgery with a heart-lung machine. It compared two ways of giving the blood thinner heparin: one based on total body weight and one based on ideal body weight. The goal was to see if using ideal body weight prevents giving too much heparin and reduces bleeding and the need for blood transfusions.
