Can a tiny heart monitor save lives after shock?

NCT ID NCT04419480

First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special heart monitor can help prevent serious problems like death, heart failure, or repeat hospital stays in people who have survived a severe heart condition called cardiogenic shock. About 40 adults will be randomly assigned to get the monitor or standard care, and researchers will track their health and quality of life for 6 months. The goal is to see if early warnings from the monitor can improve outcomes.
