Scientists search blood for clues to heart attacks

NCT ID NCT03022552

Summary

This study aims to better understand how platelets (tiny blood cells involved in clotting) work in people who have had heart attacks. Researchers will collect blood samples from 350 participants during their heart attack treatment and again two months later. By analyzing these samples, they hope to identify genetic markers and platelet characteristics that might help predict or explain heart attack risk, particularly focusing on differences between women and men.
