Could a simple handgrip exercise beat walking for blood pressure?

NCT ID NCT07318012

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study compares two types of exercise—isometric handgrip (squeezing a device) and walking—to see which is better at lowering blood pressure in people with stage 1 hypertension. About 99 adults with mild high blood pressure will be assigned to one of the two exercise groups. The goal is to find a simple, effective way to help manage blood pressure without medication.
