Scientists probe Gut's role in Chemo's harsh side effects

Summary
This study aims to understand if changes in the community of bacteria in the gut (the microbiome) are connected to why some women experience severe fatigue and nausea during chemotherapy for early-stage breast cancer. Researchers will collect stool and blood samples from about 70 patients before and after their chemotherapy treatment. By comparing these samples and patient surveys, they hope to learn if specific gut bacteria changes can predict or explain these difficult side effects.
