Scientists probe Gut's role in Chemo's harsh side effects

NCT ID NCT05417867

Summary

This study aims to understand if changes in a person's gut bacteria are connected to the fatigue and nausea often experienced during chemotherapy for early-stage breast cancer. Researchers will collect stool and blood samples from about 70 women before and after their chemotherapy treatment. By comparing these samples and patient surveys, they hope to learn if specific gut bacteria profiles are linked to worse side effects.
