First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tests whether group prenatal care, where women with diabetes meet together with a healthcare provider, works better than standard one-on-one visits. Researchers will track blood sugar levels and weight after delivery in 117 pregnant women with type 2 or gestational diabetes. The goal is to see if the group approach improves diabetes management and long-term health.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
group prenatal care (behavioral intervention)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that group prenatal care helps women with diabetes in pregnancy achieve better blood sugar control and less weight gain after delivery.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 117 participants, so results may not apply to all women. The intervention is behavioral, so individual outcomes may vary.
