First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at the best way to stop taking steroids (glucocorticoids) for people with inflammatory or autoimmune diseases. It compares stopping the medication quickly versus slowly reducing the dose over 4 weeks. The goal is to see which method is safer and reduces the risk of serious side effects like adrenal crisis. About 530 adults who have been on steroids for at least 28 days will take part.
