Do popular Weight-Loss drugs harm teen bones? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT06903923
Summary
This study aims to understand how GLP-1 weight-loss medications affect bone health in teenagers and young adults with obesity. Researchers will follow 120 participants aged 12-21 for two years, comparing those taking the medication to those managing weight through lifestyle changes alone. The goal is to see if the drugs help preserve bone strength during weight loss, which is a critical concern during these peak bone-building years.
